Long Way from Seoul (“we”, “us”, “this site”) is a personal travel photography and writing website published at longwayfromseoul.com. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
This site is written and photographed by HM, a photographer based in Seoul, South Korea. All photographs published here are our own work unless explicitly credited otherwise. You can reach us through the contact page.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you type. We use it only to reply to you. We do not sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list without your consent.
If you leave a comment, we store the comment text, your display name, email address, and IP address so that comment moderation and spam filtering can work.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server log data: IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of each request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site may use them to remember your comment details, to keep the site fast, and — where advertising or analytics are active — to measure traffic and serve relevant ads.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking them will not prevent you from reading anything on this site.

How long we keep your data
Contact form messages are kept as long as they are useful for correspondence. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so that follow-up replies remain readable. You can ask us to delete either at any time.

Readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; readers in California have comparable rights under the CCPA. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
